We are spreading our wings and soaring to Zambia for a camping trip with a cool twist.
On April 5, 2019, there will be 18 families from the Fathers & Kids Camping group heading to Zambia to take part in a life-lasting adventure.
One of the key values of Fathers & Kids Camping is giving back. We recognize that there are billions of people around the world who are less fortunate than us. And the best way to appreciate what we have is to share it with others.
With this in mind, we will be going to Zambia where we will partner up with Mothers Without Borders (MWB), a US-based 501(c)(3)-approved charity to expand an existing school in order to give the kids there the best tool possible to succeed in life: education.
The school is called the Carol Zulu Primary School. It is managed by a team of dedicated and hard-working Zambians, with funding provided by MWB. The school provides education to 450 children who would otherwise not be given a chance to learn how to read & write.
In a country where only 60% of 7th grade test scores are passing, the Carol Zulu School has maintained a 100% pass rate since opening its doors in 2010. Because of this excellent track-record, there are over 1,000 children on their waiting list.

Challenge 2019
Fathers And Kids Camping (+Mums) is sending a delegation of 18 families consisting of 58 campers who will roll up their sleeves and build the 33m long new school wing with the help of a local contractor. The process involves laying 8,000 bricks which collectively weigh as much as 22 adult elephants.
We will also install a solar power system on the roof the one of the blocks which will be subsequently able to power a computer lab as well as night classes for the parents.
During the evenings, in true camping spirit, we will be sharing stories over a camp fire and sleeping in tents under the clear sky at Casa Munji.
