Latest Student Leader Board

Dubai COVID19 student initiative reaches its final stage

Overview

Covid Crusaders is a student-led initiative aimed at helping those in Dubai who have been hit hardest by COVID19.

The students collect funds which are used to prepare warm meals that then get distributed to labour camps in distress.

This initiative is in conjunction with #Curry4COVID which is a partnership between Fathers And Kids Camping, Classic Catering, the KIDDO app, and the UAE Food Bank.

#Curry4COVID has so far delivered close to 28,000 warm meals to those in need. The goal now is to reach 30,000 by 30 June.

The student with the highest number of meals secured so far is Jai Shivpuri from Kings School Al Barsha (above). Jai has put in an incredible effort in convinging over 20 people to purchase 850 meals on his behalf.

There are 23 schools from across Dubai taking part in the Covid Crusaders programme.

Here is the ranking of the top 5 schools with the largest number of participants:

JESS Ranches has soared to claim a commanding grip over 1st place. On Thursday 18 June, the school organized a "Giving Back Day." On that day, all the Year 7 and Year 8 students completed a difficult challenge in the aim of securing meal pledges for the Curry4Covid campaign.

Overall there were over 300 students that took part in this day-long event. Together they achieved nearly 4,000 meal pledges which is a fantastic accomplishment!
